What is prayer?

Prayer is an interaction that brings us into a deeper relationship with God. It allows us to experience and live into the reality of His presence here with us on earth, along with His rule over the world and our lives.  As former author and theologian, Tim Keller, put it, “Prayer is not merely a way to get things from God but a way to get more of God Himself." Throughout the Bible prayer is used both relational (Psalms 27:4) and practical to advance God's Kingdom (Mark 9:14-29).  Here are a few tools on prayer to help encourage you grow into your relationship with Jesus.

10:02 prayer

This prayer takes to heart Jesus’ command to, “Ask the Lord of the harvest… to send out workers into his harvest field” (Luke 10.2). This rhythm intentionally reminds people ask God raise people up people who live on mission, proclaiming the gospel and making disciples. This is good reminder to make time in the middle of your day to pray and remain kingdom focused.

This tool will help you create a visual to encourage and remind you be intentionally missional, starting with praying for the people you know who are yet to trust in Jesus.

Prayer Wheel

Paul encouraged the Thessalonians to “Pray without ceasing” (1 Thessalonians 5.17) and we should strive to do the same. The Prayer Wheel is a simple tool to help guide us in the different ways to pray and grow in our relationship with Jesus.

Ways To Pray

Nothing establishes a community faster than gathering around a table, breaking bread and sharing a meal. Spiritually, nothing deepens a community more than letting Scripture govern and speak into each and every person's life, walk and relationship with Jesus.
